is it breathable?

Can I run outside today?

Check the air near you ↗ first. One tap asks for your location and shows an estimated U.S. Air Quality Index (AQI). A city search is available if you prefer not to share your location.

Read the number, not just “good” or “bad”

According to EPA’s AQI categories, 0–50 is Good; 51–100 is Moderate. At 101–150, conditions are Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. At 151–200, they are Unhealthy for everyone, with greater potential effects for sensitive groups. Higher numbers mean greater concern. If you are unusually sensitive to air pollution, even a Moderate reading can matter.

What this check can’t tell you

The AQI shown here is modeled, not a measurement at your exact route. Conditions can change, especially around smoke or traffic. A good air-quality reading is not a promise that a run is safe for you. Pollen is not included, so this cannot answer whether allergies will be an issue.

For official readings, forecasts, and advice about changing outdoor activity, see AirNow and EPA’s activity guides. If you have a health condition or symptoms, follow your clinician’s advice.
